The vitamin E family consists of different compounds called tocopherols and tocotrienols. Each of these
compounds exists in four different forms, called isomers. Thus, the vitamin E family of related nutrients
consists of four types of tocopherols and four types of tocotrienols. Both vitamin E tocopherols and
tocotrienols are excellent antioxidants and taking them together offers more complete protection than single
isomers used alone.
These softgels contain a broad-spectrum mixture of naturally-occurring tocotrienols complemented by natural
d-alpha tocopherol to augment antioxidant activity and provide support for cardiovascular function.
• Provides all four vitamin E tocotrienol isomers: Tocotrienols (d-alpha, d-beta, d-delta, and d-gamma)
are part of the vitamin E family of compounds. They are similar in structure to vitamin E tocopherols, but
contribute unique actions in supporting healthy cell function. Gamma-tocotrienol, in particular, appears to
act on a specific enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase involved in cholesterol production in the liver. By
suppressing the production of this enzyme, tocotrienols may help maintain normal cholesterol levels.
Gamma- as well as delta-tocotrienols, exert beneficial effects on life-cycle regulation of various types of
cells. Tocotrienols have also demonstrated significant benefit on carotid artery structure and function.
• Supplies 100 I.U. of d-alpha tocopherol: The d-alpha tocopherol form of vitamin E is the only form that is
actively regulated and intentionally retained in the body. It helps balance inflammatory responses in white
blood cells, regulates vascular tone, and assists blood clotting mechanisms. This product contains a
meaningful amount of d-alpha tocopherol and small amounts of other naturally-occurring tocopherol
isomers.
• Contains 100% natural vitamin E forms: Scientific evidence suggests natural forms of vitamin E are
more active and better absorbed than synthetic forms. The “d” form of vitamin E is natural, while the “dl”
form is synthetic. For maximum benefit, this product is free of synthetic vitamin E.
